The hotel is located less than a 5 min walk from Tenmonkan bus station that takes you to the Kagoshima airport. It is a 2 min walk away from Tenmonkan Mujaki, the original store serving Shirokuma shaved ice dessert (other stores of the chain can also be found in Kagoshima, but I recommend the original store). Many bus/tram stations are also max. 5 min walk away. There are many izakayas in the area. To get to the hotel from Tenmonkan station you will pass through a tad shady nightclub area ("girl collection" and such). The hotel room (small double) was a little bit bigger than I expected. A large suitcase wouldn't fit easily when opened, but it was enough for a mid-size one or 2 bacpacks. Nightrobes, toiletries and tea were provided. There was a mini fridge and an electric kettle too. There is a shampoo bar at the lobby where you can collect your chosen shampoo/conditioner into a container provided and carry it to your room. Same goes for a selection of teas, which are much tastier than the sencha provided in the room. I definitely recommend to try those provided downstairs. They also have a big choice of nice bath salts by the elevator. You can pick your own pillow if you want, otherwise small stone-filled ones are provided in the room. I liked that you could specify which amenities you want the staff to exchange during cleaning. It helped to reduce waste, as we did not require e.g. new toothbrushes every day. We could rent umbrellas from the lobby for free every day, which was great considering the torrential rains at the time of our stay.

Room is fair size for Japan, but if you have big trolley luggage with you, you might struggle opening it fully. The best part was the buffet of amenities you could pick up from the counter next to the reception! Shampoos, teas, bath salts, other hygiene products etc! Made a big difference to my experience :) The bed space was also well designed and comfy.
